Signs of a drain or vent problem
Gurgling sounds from drains, sewer smells inside the house, more than one fixture backing up at once, toilets that bubble when the washer drains, and water that drains slowly no matter how often you clear it are all signs of a bigger issue in your drain or vent system.
Buying a home? Inspect the sewer first.
When shopping for a home, always have the sewer line inspected before you buy. A sewer replacement can be very expensive and can effectively add thousands of dollars to your purchase price if it needs immediate replacement.

Frequently asked questions
Are "flushable" wipes safe to flush?
Not always. Whether they pass depends on the condition of your sewer line. If you've had blockages before, flush nothing but toilet paper.
Why does my drain gurgle?
Gurgling usually means air is being pulled through the trap because the vent is blocked or the drain is partially clogged. It's worth having checked before it turns into a backup.
